My little sister wants to ask this question!?

She doesn’t have a yahoo account, but wants me to ask you this. So here she is!

Hey everyone! I weigh 172 lbs, and am 12, and my height is 5 ft, 3 inches. I know this is like obese, so I’m trying to change! My question is, how does this plan I made for myself sound to you?
(It’s a day plan, with excercise, so there’s other stuff on it. Also, all the excercise is in between meals and I have to do it at some point before the next meal.)

Chores

Brush up and wash up

Shower

Put on S.M. cream

Breakfast-smoothie, 1 egg, banana and peanut butter, or a piece of fruit.
*Pick up to two off of list, and also a glass of water and juice plus vitamins.

Walk 2 miles
10 push ups
10 sit ups
10 crunches
10 push up positions and hold
_________________________
At least 1 glass of water

Lunch-Salad, Soup, or Healthy sandwich.
*Mandatory addition of at least 1 fresh fruit or veggie, 1-2 glass(es) of water.

Tan for at least 1 hour if sunny enough.

Walk 2 miles
10 push ups
10 sit ups
10 crunches
10 push up positions and hold
Do 1 workout/dance video
Up and down my staircase 5 times
Stretch for 5 minutes
Lift weights for 5 minutes

At least 2 glasses of water
At least 1 piece of fruit

Dinnner-Whatever mom serves, but in a smaller proportion than everyone else.
*An addition of at least 1 glass of water and 1 fresh fruit or veggie

10 push ups

Jog around my house 5 times if good weather
Ride bike around my house 10 times if good weather

Brush up

Put on S.M. cream

***Drink 8 glasses of water per day

Just going down the list, here are a few things i noticed:

eggs–when eating eggs, try just the egg whites. Like two egg whites instead of one full egg, there’s much less cholestorol.

Do more than just 10 crunches, add another 0 onto that.

Walking 2 miles? Try alternating distances of running and walking.

And lift weights for more than 5 minutes. At least like 15 i’d say, but make sure you’re doing it safely.

Wow a lot of reading! Just keep the basics in mind: you want a balanced amount of each food group, drink plenty of water (ur right about the 8 glasses, if water is boring you could try adding crystal light to it), at least 30 minutes of exercise and try and cut out white food in ur meals (which include like white bread, pasta, rice and flour and so on), you don’t have to totally give up sweets and stuff just make sure you eat everything in moderation! Hope I helped!

Good Workout For A 12 Year Old?

Well, I’m 12 and I started working out. So far, I’m on my second day and its going great.I just wanted to know if what I’m doing is good for me.
My workout is 30 minutes long and consists of 20 minutes of Cardio and 10 minutes of Abdomenal Exercises.
My Cardio Exercise is quite simple.I do a lot of Airboxing and Jumping Rope, I also do Jumping Jacks and this thing called Killers where u go through every stage of Jumping Jacks and back.You start of with standing on your toes and then you go back down 10 times.Then you jump up and down 10 times, after that you do the leg motions of a Jumping Jack but nothing else, you do this ten times.Then you do the arm and leg motions of a jumping jack but your arms never touch, they go up and down horizontal to your chest, again, you do this ten times. Then 10 full Jumping Jacks and then you go backwards.My abdomenal exercise consists of :Foot-to-Foot crunches,Alternating Curls,Push Throughs, and things of that nature.
I weigh around 135-140 pounds but I’m not that fat.I have a little belly fat but other then that you wouldn’t tell I weigh that much.My height is 5’9.
But my real question is, Is my Workout good for a 12 year old of my size and weight.
I really want to focus on my abdomen so that in a few months I might have abs.
I’m also focusing on my calves to try and slim those down.
But yeah Is this a good workout for me? Should I add something?Should I remove something?

Sounds like you have your stuff figured out. Doing the cardio everyday will definitely help tone your legs and calves. Just remember, your abs are a muscles just like all the others, and like all the others they too need rest. So my only suggestion is do abs every other day to give them a chance to re-coop.

I do agree though that defined abs on a woman is not a good thing. Flat stomach yes…6-pack, hell no!
