Your Questions About 10 Day Slim Down

Betty asks…

I’m not really slimming down, why?

I’m pretty sturdy built.. i’ve got a small layer of fat on my stomach. and my thighs are too big for my liking. I’m running atleast 5-10 miles / day (i’m on cross country) and i eat healthy. very healty. ( i can’t remember the last time i’ve drunken soda, or ordered fast food). i don’t lift any weights.. i’m trying to be skinny here… why aren’t i?

Jane answers:

If I were you I would try some light weight lifting. It wouldn’t turn you into a body builder – instead it would just tone your body, that way you’d be slim & toned. My Nutritionist told me that incorporating light weight lifting into a cardio rutiene will speed up the process of slimming down. It’s worked for me so far.

I’ve tried, I think you are better off doing something fun. I do DDR everyday for 30 minutes. Some advise I would give you is its not burning off a coke, its what you do everyday is what makes a difference. Do something you love doing like if you like shopping like me!! :) lol. Riding a bike, walking your dog, if you like running, run a mile and see if you can beat your own time. Like i said, its what you do everyday that makes the difference. Try doing a fun athletic activity everyday for about 30 min. Day, along with eating a healthy diet. Don’t inhale junk food, its ok to have junk once in a while, but if you can cut down on bad food and eat healthier, as well as exercising, I can guarantee you that you will loose weight and feel confident. :)
I hope i helped!!

Maria asks…

My 10.5 month old baby won’t sit down and eat!!!

I have a 10 and half month old baby boy. He is super high energy, to be honest, I’ve never seen a baby like him. I am very worried because he won’t sit down and eat, I try to give him wheat or oat cereal every morning and night and I just end up freaking out on him cause he won’t open his mouth, and he is always just trying to get out of his high chair. I end up putting his cereal inside his bottle every morning and night. He drinks 4 bottles a day 8 ounces each. For lunch I give him whatever we are having, little pieces of carrot or veggies or chicken and he eats some but I am worried it’s not enough. He is a slim baby, and all of my friends babies are fatter than him. He looks healthy but these things keep worrying me! Has anybody had the same experience? Is he eating enough? What should I do?

Jane answers:

Thin babies are fine. :) As long as the doctor isn’t concerned you shouldn’t be, either.

Sounds like mealtime has become horrible for both of you. I know those struggles and they are not fun. At this age, if he’s hungry, he’ll eat. I would stop putting cereal in the bottle and cut down from 32 oz. (not all in one day!). Right now, he’s probably just not hungry after all of that milk and cereal. And then he thinks dinnertime is just keeping him from playing!

I have a 2yo daughter and I’m learning (slowly!) that she grows in and out of phases (sleep problems, eating problems, etc) and all I can do is try and help her through them. But if it’s getting to the point where I am losing my cool with her, I realize it’s just not worth it. That’s not the kind of parent I want to be and it just makes us both unhappy. Much of the time, if I drop whatever I’m harping on, she’ll end up doing the “right” thing anyway. I think all we can do is have expectations and try to help them meet those expectations. But if they can’t meet them, well, we try again another time. :)

Sandy asks…

By doing 100 sit ups per day how long will it take to tone up my stomach?

I have a reasonably slim/flat stomach anyway, but it’s not quite as toned as I want it to be. I’m cutting down on calories by at least 400-500 per day, so i’m eating approx. 1000-1200 calories per day. By doing 100 sit ups and some other workouts (following the Rosemary Conley workout) how long will it take for me to get a flatter stomach? Also, what other exercises can I do to achieve this? Also, what are some other exercises which I can do to help slim down my legs? I would run, but I currently am not allowed to due to a ripped cartilage in my knee and I’m allowed to start again in 2 months. So, are there any exercises I can do which will tone, but not ‘bulk up’ by leg muscle, as I wish to slim them down to size 6 or 8 (currently a 10) Thank you!

Jane answers:

Yea if you do not have too much fat around your stomach, you can see a difference in 2 weeks. Try to eat healthily also and eat foods that help you burn fat

Lizzie asks…

How much more weight should i lose?

Im 16, 5’5, and 121 pounds. I have been biking an hour a day for 4 months now and lost 10 pounds. Although i am happy with the results, my hips and thighs are till very large. I want to slim down on the bottom area more. What can i do to slim down my thighs more? and what kind of exercise can i be doing that will help along with my biking? How much more weight should i lose to be at a normal weight?

Jane answers:

I personally think you are at a fine weight. As long as your thighs and legs are muscle and not cellulite, they probly lookin sexy. If you want, you can show me and I can give you an honest opinion.
