Is this a good plan to get rid of extra fat?
I am 22, 5′ 6″, 130. Due to a bad hip injury and back injury I cannot do something very strenuous….so..I want to flatten my stomach and tighten my inner thighs as well as get rid of the little cellulite I have.
If I eat 1300 calls a day, go to the guy 3 days for an hour…walk everyday I do not go to the gym for 20 minutes before breakfast, and 20 minutes before dinner, both at the speed of 3.6 on incline 4, and after dinner for an hour on 4 mph….will this help me slim down?

Jane answers:
I definitely think it would help get rid of that unwanted fat. Just cutting the calories is the first thing you have to do so the exercise is just a bonus!

I’m going crazy, WHY AREN’T I LOOSING WEIGHT?
I’m 15 years old, and i’m a girl.
My scale is always incorrect and changes everytime I get on it. I’m assuming i’m anywhere between 140-145llbs. I am 5ft, 5 inches tall.
I’m muscular, but not that bad. My legs are extremely muscular.
I want them skinny so bad! Just leaner, I wanna loose all the fat thats left on top of the mucles, and my love handles, and a little pouch left. I’m not completely fat, just a bit chubby.
I want to loose 10-15llbs, not all at once, just slowly.
I go the gym every single day for atleast 45-1hr.
I’m doing this for only a month, cause than I have cheerleading.
But for now, i’m doing the gym everyday, and cheer workouts 3 days a week. Soon to be 5 days a week. The first week of practice for cheerleading is 5 hours long every day. only first week though.
I run a mile on the treadmill everyday, and do the bikes for 20 minutes.
I usually burn 100 calories on the treadmil, (which I don’t think its necessiarly right) but that is what it says. I burn 80-100 on the bikes, and I walk home, (about quarter mile home).
My eating habits, I eat really healthy, but i’m so used to eating when i’m full! It’s terrible. I don’t know ways to stop it! What should I do to stop the cravings.
Today I had…
Strawberry special K cereal, 1 cup 2% milk.
a few blueberries.

Heres where I messed up, about an hour later, I had grapes, and a small personal vegetable pizza. 350 calories.
So today I had around 650 calories? Maybe 1000, i’m trying to count, but it’s difficult.
So why aren’t I loosing weight. I didn’t even meet my calorie requirement!!!!!
Okay, so can someone tell me why i’m not loosing weight?
Some tips to help me with the cravings? & how to slim down!

Jane answers:
Simple carbs are addictive and can be disastrous to our health. The best way to break the addiction is NO carbs for 3 days. Make a huge batch of deviled eggs and eat one every time you want “something” have huge bacon, peppers, mushrooms & cheese omelets for breakfast. Pork chops for lunch. Get pork rinds and eat them with tuna salad. Steak for dinner. Make a huge sugar free cheese cake for dessert. Eat so much you won’t feel deprived of anything. By the fourth day, your addiction will be gone and you can start making healthy choices
You will lose more body fat eating protein & fat (don’t eat protein alone) than not eating AT ALL. To lose weight fast eat all you want but nothing but meat, eggs, healthy oils, mayo, butter and half an avocado a day (you’ll need added potassium). Keep the calories high and the fat percentage high, at least 65% of calories. Adding in green vegetables & some cheese will continue weight loss but at a slower pace.
The first week is just water weight but fat is lost thereafter if you keep your calories high enough. Otherwise your body will strip it’s own lean tissue for nutrition and although that may look great on a scale it will make it MUCH easier for you to accumulate fat in the future (since you don’t have all that pesky lean tissue burning up calories). Your body won’t release fat stores if you lower calories below what it needs. It will slow your metabolism to compensate and store every spare ounce as fat. If you continue lowering your calories, it will continue lowering that set point, til you can survive off nothing and store fat on anything. The body will only release it’s fat stores if it knows there is plenty of food.
Eating carbs while trying to lose body fat is terribly inefficient. When in glycolysis (burning glucose as fuel) you have to lower your calories (which slows your metabolism) and exercise heavily to deplete your glycogen stores before burning body fat.
The core of the Atkins program is converting your body from glycolysis (burning glucose as fuel) to ketosis (burning fat as fuel). You need to keep your fat levels at >65% of your calories, if you don’t your body will still remain in glycolysis by converting 58% of excess protein into glucose (via gluconeogenesis).
It takes minimum of 3 days to convert your body to ketosis, (but only one bite to convert back to glycolysis) you will probably feel sluggish the first week but most people feel better than ever thereafter.
Simple carbohydrates (sugar, flour, bread, cereal, pasta, potatoes, rice) triggers insulin which can store the calories you eat into fat. The more protein you eat the more the fat burning hormone glucagon is released. The more carbohydrate you eat the more the fat storage hormone insulin is released.
High insulin levels promote inflammation, weight gain, hunger and unbalance other hormones. Controlling your insulin level will balance out other hormones & allow human growth hormone (HGH) to be produced naturally so you will gain lean muscle even without exercise. Any exercise will greatly increase your muscle mass with high HGH levels.
Ground flax seed (2 Tbsp) 1/4 cup of water, cinnamon, artificial sweetener, mix in a raw egg – let sit 10 min to absorb liquid, put some cream cheese in the middle and nuke for 1.5 min. For hot cereal or 2 min. For more of a muffin type thing. Great low carb, high fiber treat. Suggested for daily fiber needs.
The first 2 weeks you can have several cups a day of (mostly) lettuce and celery, cucumbers, radishes, mushrooms, peppers and more variety of vegetables thereafter add 5 grams per day additional (20 grams day first 2 weeks, 25grams 3rd week, 30grams 4th week etc) every week til you gain weight, then you subtract 10 carbs. That would give you your personal carb level (everyone is different and it depends on how active you are.)
Start with meat & fats & salads for a couple of weeks and then you can slowly add in more green veg, wk4 fresh cheeses, wk5 nuts & seeds, wk6 berries, wk7 legumes, wk8 other fruits, wk9 starchy veg and lastly wk10 whole grains. You will learn how your body reacts to different foods. As long as you remain <9 carbs per hour, you will maintain insulin control, and shouldn't gain weight.
Many people gain weight on high carb, then switch to low carb to lose weight & then are shocked when they return to high carb that they gain weight. Many people can return to moderate carb levels but very few can really eat all they want of sugar and maintain weight or health.
Dr.Atkins was a cardiologist, low carb was a health plan easier sold as a “diet” Read any of his books for easily understandable science. Normalizing blood pressure, blood sugar, insulin, cholesterol, triglyercerides and hormone levels are all bonus features of doing a low carb way of eating. Lutz “Life without Bread” & Taubes “Good calories, Bad calories” are excellent books that dispel all the nutrition myths.

Tips on losing weight?
I’m 5′3” and weigh 135 lbs. I’m not fat or anything, just lean. I really want to slim down to 115 – 120 lbs. Lately, when I run or anything my knees are killing me afterwords. Plus I also miss being known as small and tiny. Ha ha! As lame as that sounds. I used to be like that in high school. Now I’m 21 and tired of carrying extra pounds. I’ve tried dieting like the less than 1000 calories a day, already drink more than enough water and what not but I always resort back to food and mess up like 3 days worth of work. I don’t have time for exercise because of work and school. Any tips for keeping the right state of mind or motivation? Or any tips on losing weight, period?
Again. I do not have time to workout.
I recently quit smoking so yeah . . . :/ No mention of tobacco

Do Pure Fruit Smoothie diets work? <-- please help!?
OK, So i want t slim down and kinda tone up you know? well i had a plan that i would run 1 1/2 miles every day, eat/drink 3 smoothies a day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and drink 8 glasses of water a day. Do you think I would see results in 2 weeks? I need help! also, any input would be appreciated! thanks(:

Jane answers:
Sure thing! A lot of fruits are negative calorie foods, and they still have some protein and fiber. They also have sugar, but if you’re going to exercise that isn’t a problem. You should eat some vegetables and wheat bread in there, too.

How to lose 14 lbs safely for a teen?
hi, im 5 ft, 140 lbs and I was hoping to get down to about 126 ish around there. So I need help losing 14 lbs to get my goal and first off I’m having trouble with it.
I think I drink to much soda’s [at lunch, dinner 2 cups for each] and recently I been eating quite alot of fast foods too [2-3 times in a week] if I stop doing this habit will it be easier for me to slim down?,
changing mylife style:
1 cup of soda, rest of the day all water
fastfood cutting down to 3 times in a month?.
This is fustrating I need ideas with this please.

Jane answers:
Cutting on sugary sodas can make a HUGE difference.
Instead of soda, try to limit your beverages to water only.
By doing this, you will save yourself A LOT of calories.
Instead of fast food, try to think of foods you like that can be healthy.
Fruits and vegetables are excellent. I know a burger tastes a lot better than a carrot, but think of the results you will get!
Make goals for yourself.
So, tell yourself that you won’t drink soda today and instead grab a bottle of water.
Also, if you don’t buy soda, you won’t drink soda. Seeing something aorund the house, makes you want it.
Also, if you start getting cravings, brush your teeth.
A craving usually lasts about 8-14 minutes, so during that time you can drink a large glass or water or eat an orange to curb your hunger.
Good Luck!
